Tooth Extractions
Even with proper dental routines such as daily brushing and flossing, instances can still arise that compromise the integrity of your teeth. You can take care of your teeth your entire life, and still need an extraction. Some people need to have a tooth pulled because it’s damaged or broken. Other times there’s no other option than an extraction to help get you out of pain fast. Know that you’re in good hands if you’re having issues with your teeth and might need a tooth pulled. We practice conservative dentistry, meaning we want to preserve your natural teeth for as long as possible. We’ll only recommend an extraction if absolutely necessary and if it fits into your smile goals. Dr. Poole has the skill and expertise to complete most routine extractions in the comfort of our office. Wisdom teeth or bony impactions are generally referred out to our trusted partner specialist right next door to our office.

Dental Crowns
Despite at home care and proper brushing/flossing, there may be instances where a tooth requires additional restoration to return it to a healthy, supportive state. We have treatments and solutions like dental crowns that can be used to complete amazing restorations. There are times in life when both children and adults might need a crown to make their smile healthy again. Dr. Poole offers stainless steel crowns for children and metal-free, porcelain crowns for adults. These crowns are hand-crafted in our dental lab located in Northern Georgia.
Crowns are one of dentistry’s most used tools to help restore function to your smile and stop decay from spreading. Crowns are also used to:
- Strengthen a weak or cracked tooth
- Rebuild worn or broken teeth
- Rebalance your bite after years of damage
- Top off a dental implant

Fillings
Recent research from the University of Georgia shows that the average American has three dental fillings, while 25 percent of the country’s population has 11 or more fillings.
If Dr. Poole and his team identify some areas of decay in your teeth, they will replace that compromised area with a white composite filling. They will remove that decayed portion of your enamel, and fill in the open area with a safe, white composite filling. This will strengthen the tooth and prevent the decay from spreading further. They might also notice some older fillings that you have that may begin to be showing signs of failure. This is especially common with silver amalgam fillings. Dr. Poole may recommend removing those older silver fillings and replacing with newer, stronger composite fillings.

Root Canal Therapy
Saving your natural teeth and preserving them so they last a lifetime is always what we strive for. Any reliable, honest dentist will tell you that there’s no dental treatment that can truly replace a natural tooth.
One of the ways a tooth can be in danger of deterioration, even falling out, is due to decay. When a tooth begins to break down, you can end up with pain and a bacterial infection spreading deep into your tooth’s inner layer called the pulp. That’s where we come in. Dr. Poole has the training and technology to perform root canal therapy to perfection. He can remove the dying tissue from within your tooth, saving it from the risk of total loss and extraction.
We know no one wants to hear they need a root canal. Be sure that if we recommend it, it’s because it’s going to help you and your smile. We’ll work together to discuss a treatment plan and stop at nothing until you’re comfortable on procedure day.
